Like most other engineering plastics, Ultrason absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and must be dried prior to processing. Ultrason grades should be dried at 130-150℃C (266-302℃F) for 3 to 4 hours in a desiccant drier. For injection molding, the moisture content should be 0.02-0.05% to prevent streaking or foaming. Drying is more critical for extrusion and requires that the moisture content be less than 0.02% to prevent bubbles in the melt.
