Styroflex® Thermoplastic Elastomer

Styroflex® Thermoplastic Elastomer

Styroflex® thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) from BASF offers outstanding resilience, toughness and transparency. The molecular architecture of this styrene-butadiene copolymer accounts for its special range of properties. The excellent processability and high thermal stability of our Styroflex® thermoplastic elastomer allow processing by both extrusion and injection molding. In compounds, Styroflex® thermoplastic elastomer opens up a broad spectrum of applications.

Styroflex® grades are part of PlasticsPlus™, BASF's name for a specialty plastics line that includes high-performance styrenics, biodegradable materials, and foams. Wherever exacting requirements have to be met, the experts and products from PlasticsPlus™ supply a particularly high level of diversity, reliability, partnership, and innovation.

  Styroflex 2G 66
Styroflex 2G66 is a stryrene-butadiene block copolymer with the properties of a thermoplastic elastomer (S-TPE). Styroflex 2G66 is the only S-TPE with a styrene content of at least 65% and a rubber fraction of at least 70%. Characteristic properties are: clarity, excellent thermostability, very high elongation at break and extreme elastic recovery. Styroflex 2G66 is more polar than comparable SBS or SEBS grades, offering good adhesion to other plastics.
