In an unprecedented collaboration between a designer (Konstantin Grcic), a furniture manufacturer (Plank), and a plastic producer (BASF), a new chair was
born: MYTO.
The MYTO chair is made entirely of Ultradur® High Speed PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and will be available in seven colors.
The collaborative development resulted in a finished product in just over a year. The BASF technical team was critical in developing CAD models and finite
element analysis to assure the chair would pass the required loading tests. High Speed Ultradur was able to meet the needs of manufacturing for fast cycle
time and the design requirements which included thin walled and complex sections with long flow lengths.
